More About Sunday Luxe Knitwear

What Goes Into The Garments

Ultimately, we wanted to create stylish and quality loungewear because nothing on the market lived up to our standards. We are not ashamed to say that we demand the best. As such our knitwear is comprised of:

64% WV extrafine merino superior RWS, 26% PA polyamide (18% of this is recycled), 9%WS recycled cashmere and1%EA elastan.

Our yarn is sourced from Italy.

Our yarn has a number of certifications as the ethics and sustainability are a key focus for Sunday Luxe. Our knitwear certifications include the RWS certification (Responsible Wool Standards) and GRS (Global Recycled Standard).

How To Care For Your Garment

In terms of care, hand-washing is recommended but, the garments can go in the washing machine on a cold wool / delicates setting. We have put the garments through robust testing and had great results however hand-washing is the least risky of course.

We recommend drying the garment on a flat surface to keep the shape in impeccable condition.

When we went into design and production we were adamant that we didn’t want any pilling (bobbling) on our garments however, as we have learned more about the process, we know now that it’s inevitable that all knitwear will experience some element of pilling. This is caused by two things; the quality of the yarn and the amount of friction the knitwear experiences. We are confident in the quality of the knitwear we have produced but cannot guarantee the level of friction the garments will experience in their owner’s care.

However, washing infrequently is one of the best ways to maintain the health of the knitwear. The composition of the yarn means that odours will not stick to the fibres so washing every 10 or so wears really is absolutely fine.

In the event you do experience any pilling around the areas that endure high levels of friction, (underarm and crotch area) our tests have shown that using a standard de-bobbler works wonders and leaves the garments feeling as good as new.

How We Make The Knitwear

We design everything out of our UK studio (Sunday Luxe HQ).

We work with an amazing UK production house to produce the garments in small batches (so that we can ensure quality control). The garments are produced through a combination of machine and hand stitching.

More About Sunday Luxe Candles

What Goes Into The Candles

At Sunday Luxe HQ we’ve tried hundreds of candles and are adamant that the mark of quality should come from scent throw, wax quality and burn time. An equally important factor is that they’re made under strict ethical and sustainability standards, so that we could enjoy the candles guilt-free, in all their glory.

And so we bring you candles that we know you will love burning and that promise the following:

Vegan friendly and absolutely no testing on animals, petroleum free, phthalate free, lead free, no palm oil and 100 % natural soy wax.

How To Care For Your Candles

To get the most from your candle ensure you burn for 2 – 3 hours the first time round. After that, ensure you are trimming the wick between burns to approximately 5mm. And although it’s tempting, try not to burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Just give it a rest and time to cool before trimming the wick and re-lighting, if you do want more continuous burn time.

All of these tips will ensure you get the most out of your candle with regards to a clean and long-lasting burn.

How We Make The Candles

The candles are all hand mixed and poured with perfumed oils running all the way through (rather than just poured onto the top which is why some candles stop throwing scent after the first burn).

We are also proud to say that the candles are all made in the UK too.

More About Sunday Luxe Slippers

What Goes Into The Slippers

The slippers get their fluffiness from Alpaca wool which is sheared from alpacas who roam freely in their natural terrain on the Altiplano of the Andes.  The wool is super soft, hypoallergenic, weightlessly warm, hardwearing and does not pill or bobble.

The skins are sourced from alpacas that have died from natural causes so no animals are harmed in the shearing process or killed for their skins.

No dyes are used on the slippers and no chemicals are used in the farming of the alpacas.  Alpacas themselves are well known for their minimal impact on the environment.  They tread lightly with their soft padded feet, produce more fleece than sheep and have efficient grazing habits.

How To Care For Your Slippers

If you do need to wash your slippers then simply hand wash and dry flat. To protect the luxury of the product please do not machine wash or tumble dry.

How We Make The Slippers

The yarn is made in Peru by Inca Tops working with social responsibility programmes who invest proceeds back into poorer Peruvian communities, and the knitting operation is run by an expert team of women in Lima.  All other production is handled in the UK and as with all Sunday Luxe products, we personally check every item before sending out.

Our Promise

We promise to fully check any factories, production partners and third parties for ethical procedures and to always be transparent with you about how and where the products are made.  For our savvy Sunday Luxe women, that is the transparency and respect you can always expect from us.
